We incorporate Walnutwood, Beechwood, Burlwood, Rosewood, Bamboo & Maplewood (off-cut pieces of Skateboards) into some of our models to promote Eco-Friendly materials! We are creating a unique eco-conscious look and are inspiring a deeper connection to nature and purchasing with purpose!

We use Bamboo to make a stylish accessory and also to uplift the Underprivileged Townships of South Africa. We are planting the seeds of long lasting change!
In our 5 year Philanthropy Projects Maple Eyewear is growing Bamboo in the townships of South Africa, providing a bottomless building material and encouraging small business in underprivileged communities, promoting abundance, healthy living and eco-conscious materials! We envision a world where sustainable resources empower communities and style supports a greater purpose!

• It is the fastest growing plant on the planet!
• Known as the miracle plant it can grow 3ft (1m) per day | 1.6inches (4cm) an hour!
• Most trees take 30 - 40 years to grow to maturity and then are harvested
• Bamboo can grow to twice the size of a palm tree in 2 - 3 years
• Bamboo regenerates, if it is cut down it grows back without needing to be replanted
• Bamboo is edible the roots and seeds are used to make bamboo rice, flour and tea!
• Legend has it Chuck Norris is still brushing his teeth with the same bamboo toothbrush he had as a kid!


We source our Maple from Off-Cut pieces of Skateboard Decks making our products Up-cycled and Re-Purposed.
Off-cut Maple is an expression of our Brand originating from an industry of Surfers, Skateboarders and Creatives in Cape Town, South Africa and San Diego, California.
Maple is a hard wood and extremely durable, with layers in Skateboard Decks we are able to create a variety of color combinations.
Our Maple models are our Signature Models using all of our highest end materials.. Layered Maplewood, Polarized Lenses & Flexible Hinges, they are only available in stores we make them for and directly from our website!
